SECURITY: Irepo LG boss distributes motorcycles worth millions of naira to Vigilante
Just a few months after providing the vigilante with motorcycles and security equipment worth millions of naira, the Chairman of the Irepo Local Government, Hon. Joel Oyetunji, on Thursday gave the vigilante additional motorcycles in a commendable show of support for the community.
In his remarks, the Chairman assured a better future for the Kishi community under Omituntun 2.0, noting that the gesture was motivated by the promise of a safe environment where residents could live in peace.
Oyetunji asserted that the security of people’s lives and property is of greater concern to the Makinde’s led administration, adding that without security, essential activities such as farming and business become precarious ventures.

He pointed out that an unsafe atmosphere can stunt economic development, discourage investment, and cause terror among residents.
According to him, giving the vigilante group motorcycles “can effectively protect people from security threats.
“The local government’s plans go beyond security; the council will actively participate in initiatives in a variety of fields, including agriculture, empowerment, education, job creation, health, and others. These initiatives are integral parts of a larger plan to move the community towards a sustainable development.”
The SAs to the Deputy Governor on Political and Domestic Matters, Hon. Yusuf Ajagbe and Hon. Badmos Adesola, commend the efforts of the Governor and his deputy in ensuring that good things are on the way in their sele rate remarks.

In his own contribution, the local government party chairman praised the governor’s efforts and his deputy’s support towards advancing the community.
He conducted his speech with a solemn prayer for the entire kishi community.
