Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood launches Maternal and Child Health project, gifts kits to pregnant women, nursing mothers
In a heartfelt endeavor to prioritize the well-being of mothers and children, the Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood launched its Maternal and Child Health project at the Cottage Hospital in Olohunsogo, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The project saw the distribution of essential pregnancy kits to expectant mothers and thoughtful mama kits to nursing mothers.
The event was a testament to the Rotary Club’s unwavering commitment to community welfare and health, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable members of society.
Pregnant women attending the Cottage Hospital were greeted with the heartwarming gesture of receiving pregnancy kits. These kits contain vital supplies to support mothers during pregnancy and ensure a safe and healthy journey into motherhood. The Rotary Club aims to alleviate the financial burden often associated with maternity care, allowing expectant mothers to focus on their well-being and that of their unborn children.
Nursing mothers, who are equally vital in nurturing the future generation, were not forgotten. They received mama kits containing essentials to facilitate postnatal care and provide comfort to both mother and child.
In addition to the distribution of these kits, the Rotary Club of Fate Neighbourhood, later after the distribution during their meeting and lecture on maternal and child health was presented by Rotarian Speaker Aibinuomo Rhoda Oluwatoyosi. She shared valuable insights and knowledge with the attendees. The lecture aimed to empower memberd with the information and tools needed to ensure the health and well-being of themselves.
By addressing the critical needs of pregnant and nursing mothers, they are making a profound impact on the community and contributing to the betterment of society as a whole which was advanced by the capacity President, Rotarian Salmat Abolore.
