Makinde distributes 30 additional operational vehicles to security agencies
As part of the state government’s efforts to fortify the state’s security architecture, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, presented 30 operational vehicles to Oyo State security agencies.
The vehicles were officially handed at the Agodi Secretariat by the governor, who was represented by his deputy, barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal.
Makinde asserted that the exercise is a fulfilment of a pledge made and kept, stating that in the run-up to the general election in 2023, additional vehicles were promised to strengthen the state’s security architecture following the delivery of about 75 patrol vehicles to local governments across the state.
He added that the handling over of the vehicles is for the purpose of maintaining security in Oyo state assuring that it would be adequately used.

According to the deputy governor, the governor’s monitoring team is receiving eight, police receiving fifteen, NDLEA, Hunters, and NAF will receive one each, and OYRTMA and NSCDC will be receiving two each.
The deputy governor stated that the government will continue to assist efforts to maintain peace in Oyo state and he urged the security agencies to make the most of the patrol vehicles.
“So, on behalf of His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, it is my pleasure to handover all these vehicles to the commanders of security in the state for the good of our people and maintenance of security in Oyo state.”
Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner for police, Bola Hamzat appreciated the continued assistance of Oyo state government led by Governor Seyi Makinde in strengthening the security architecture of the state.

He thanked the Governor for the privilege and noted that this is not the first time the governor has provided security agencies with sufficient support. He pledged that the police would keep up the state’s security for peace.
