Excitement As Compassion For The Aged Foundation Team visits Centre For Happy Elderly People Care Home In Lagos 

On Friday, July 21, 2023, CAF visited Centre for Happy Elderly People, (CHEP), Jakande Estate, Lagos to spend time with the Elders at the centre in order to engage them in various fun activities such as arts, crafts, painting, games and personal grooming. 

The program had staff of CHEP, CAF Team and care givers in attendance to engage them in painting exercises, dancing competitions and aged friendly games.  

CAF, which is an organization concerned about the betterment of the health and wellbeing of the Senior citizens/elders, has a thematic area focused on creating inclusivity for the aged community.

MOUTHPIECE NGR gathered that the aim of this visit is to allow members of the organization connect socially with the elders, show love, create positive memories, alleviate loneliness, make them feel happier, cared for and give them the interaction they need to boost their overall happiness.

Speaking with newsmen, Oluremi Ajayi, who is the Executive Director of Compassion for The Aged Foundation, commended the management team of CHEP and appreciated the laudable effort of the care home in providing healthy environment for the aged to thrive.

She also emphasized on the need for government agencies and funders to divert funds and resources into the elder citizens’ care sector.

“CAF as an Organization is focused on creating a sustainable, inclusive and healthy environment for the aged community in Nigeria by prioritizing social welfare and support for the aged through timely visitation to different adult care homes across Nigeria”, she added.
