Wife of Oyo deputy gov honors former Ag. Housing General Manager, Kayode in Ogbomoso 

….says he served meticulously 

July 29, 2023 was a memorable day in the career history of Mr Gbenga Kayode, the Acting General Managing Director of Oyo Housing Corporation, as he officially bows out of government’s service.

kayode, who had earlier served in various capacities, retired from active duty in the mid of July after 35 years of service to the Oyo State government.

The pen down ceremony which was held during a church service in Ogbomoso, had in attendance several dignitaries in the state including the wife of Oyo deputy governor, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal who was accompanied by several people. 

Speaking during the Thanksgiving service and reception, the wife of Oyo deputy governor, Chief Lawal lauded Kayode’s achievements throughout the course of his 35 years of service, saying it was a long period of commitment and consecration to duties.

She thanked God on behalf of Kayode, stating that only God could have enabled him to overcome the challenges of the civil service and reach the level of retirement.

While reminding the celebrant that the sky is only the beginning for him, she urged him to maintain his sense of dedication to any endeavour he chooses to pursue after retirement.

Chief Lawal, who said she had come to represent her husband, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, further stated that her husband is one of them, adding that he is currently a royal chieftain under Onipetu of Ijeruland in Ogbomoso. 

According to her, “My husband has been a son of the soil for over 30 years despite hailing from Kishi. He also graduated from Ogbomoso grammar school. So, he will always treat Ogbomoso people equally.”

“On behalf of my husband, I congratulate the celebrant and thank you all for your prayers and support especially for Omitutun 2.0. 

“Although Mr Kayode is just retiring but will never be tired to continue to serve the people of Oyo state. And I pray that everyone will also benefit from this government.”

Mrs Lawal equally emphasized the significance of giving thanks to God in all circumstances, urging everyone to show compassion for one another and lend a hand to those in need as a way of appreciating God for his countless blessings and love while also advising them to take other lessons from the pastor’s sermon.

On her entourage were Dr. & Mrs  Dayo Pitan, Chief mrs. Ronke Bello, Olori Adegbayibi, Mrs Adeyemo, Mrs. Olaniyi, Mrs. Fayemi, Mrs. Amoo, Mrs. Wumi, Mr. S. G. Ayoola & Hon. Dauda Adams.
