The Oke Ogun Polytechnic Saki matriculates 3,329 students in grand style
The ancient city of Saki was agog on Wednesday, 5th July, 2023, as The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic Saki, held its matriculation ceremony to formally welcome its newly admitted students for both Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND programs.
MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that parents, guardians, and Polytechnic community members attended the programme, which was anchored by the institution’s PRO, Mr. Adebayo Samson Abiodun.
About 1,561 students were matriculated for the OND 1 program and roughly 1,768 students were matriculated for the HND 1 program for the 2022/2023 Matriculation ceremony, which signifies the conclusion of Admission procedures.
Dr. (SURV) Sikiru Adetona Ajibola, Rector of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic Saki, who spoke at the ceremony, congratulated the newly admitted students for meeting the requirements to be a part of the Polytechnic community.
He also urged them to fully participate in all campus activities so they can develop the skills they need to succeed after graduation.
According to him, it is noteworthy to point out that award of certificates is based on sound academic performance and moral uprightness, you should therefore desist from all acts of moral laxity which include assault, disrespect to constituted authority, defying lawful order and command, violation of academic rules, involvement in examination malpractices, internet fraud to mention but few, if you want to complete your academic program in good time with good grade.
“As students, you are expected to register as follows Directorate of Students Affairs; Directorate of Academic Affairs; Directorate of Paychometrics; Institution’s Health centre; Guidance and Counseling as well as Vocational Skills and Entrepreneurship Students Centre among others.”

While urging the students to associate with recognized associations on campus such as Departmental association, Muslim student society, Joint Christian fellowship, Press club and other social association, he warned them not to involve themselves in cultism and other social vices.
He further assured that the lecturers and non teaching staff will not relent in their efforts in counseling them about their expected roles as students.
The highlight of the event was the monetary gift donations by the Rector of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic Saki to students who displayed their talents in dancing, Ewi and songs to further encourage them.
Mr. J.O. Adigun, Ag. Registrar, Mr. S.G. Ayanbisi, Ag. Bursar, and Mr. J.K. Ajayi and the institution’s PRO, Mr. Adebayo Samson Abiodun, were among the stakeholders who graced the occasion.
Others were Deans of Faculties, Directors, HODs, Academic and Non Academic staff, The chairman Town and gown, Alhaji Saka Popular, Military and Para military, Man O War, Cadet and Pressmen.
