Residents and indigents are rejoicing as a long-abandoned road, which had been left in disrepair for about four years, was brought back to life by the proactive efforts of Pastor Oyetunji Oyedokun Joel, the Chairman of Irepo Local Government.

The reopening of the Quater Road Link to Baba Imma Junction comes as a much-needed relief to the community, as it had suffered from the road’s neglect, causing inconvenience and hampering economic activities in the area.

For years, the residents had endured the adverse effects of the impassable road, which was left in a deplorable state due to lack of maintenance and rehabilitation.

The deteriorated condition of the road had led to increased travel time, damaged vehicles, and difficulties in transporting goods and services to and from the area. The people in the community had expressed their grievances to various authorities without any positive response until now.

However, Pastor Oyetunji Oyedokun Joel, known for his commitment to community development and public service, took up the challenge and made the road’s restoration a priority. Understanding the importance of accessible road infrastructure for the socio-economic well-being of the residents, the chairman allocated resources and coordinated efforts to revive the neglected Quater Road Link to Baba Imma Junction.

“I could no longer bear to see my fellow indigenes suffer due to the poor state of this road. It was disheartening to witness the economic activities in the area suffer, and people facing difficulties in their daily commutes. I made it a personal mission to tackle this problem and ensure that the road was reopened for the betterment of our community,” said Pastor Oyetunji Oyedokun Joel.

MOUTHPIECE NGR understands that under his leadership, the chairman mobilized the necessary manpower, machinery, and materials to carry out the road’s reconstruction and repair.

The rehabilitation efforts were conducted diligently and efficiently, and after weeks of hard work, the once neglected road was fully restored and made accessible for public use.
