Attacks on PMS boss malicious and unfounded— PMS Spokesman
….asks publisher to provide evidence within 48 hours or face legal action
The Oyo Park Management System (PMS) has debunked the rumor emanating from an unknown medium that the PMS Chairman, Omolewa Tomiwa also known as Tommy within two months of his assumption of office has bought houses and hotels, describing it as false, malicious and unfounded aimed at tarnishing the image of the PMS Chairman.
The PMS, who debunked the rumor in a statement signed by its media aide, Samuel Ayokunle also known as AY Telecoms on Monday, said such an incident never occurred in the state as the report is fake and should be disregarded by Oyo residents.
The statement also refuted the assertion that Abideen Ejiogbe, the former chairman of the NURTW, had a quarrel with PMS Chairman Tommy, saying that at no time they ever engaged in physical conflict let alone to steer clear of PMS premises.
The statement reads in part: “Our attention has been drawn to a malicious report making the round in sections of the media purporting that the Chairman of PMS, Omolewa Tomiwa who assumed office within two months has suddenly bought hotels and houses at Bodija.
“We wish to clarify that such an incident never occurred in the state as the report is fake and should be disregarded by all and sundry.
“We wish to also clarify that at no point in time did the chairman of PMS had a fight with the former defunct NURTW Chairman, Abideen Ejiogbe or asked him to steer clear of PMS premises.
“Being mindful of the negative impacts of disinformation on public peace and within the PMS, especially now that the PMS is poised towards achieving its primary mandate, we have directed our legal teams to take actions against the publisher of this malicious reports against the PMS Chairman if they fail to provide evidence of their claims within 48 hours.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, the PMS wishes to reiterates its readiness to pursue this matter using all legal means necessary to its logical conclusion and also to serve as a deterrent to who be rumor mongers and peddlers of false information.”
