Wife of Oyo Deputy Gov felicitates with Oluranti, Comforter as Gov. Makinde inaugurates 30 others  

On Wednesday, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, inaugurated 32 members into the 10th State House of Assembly.

Speaking at the inauguration which took place at the State Assembly, Governor Makinde encouraged the lawmakers to work diligently in all honesty to serve the purpose of his mandate.

In his address, the Governor noted that the legislature is the backbone of any democracy, adding that the legislature is the only arm of government that has all members duly elected by the people.

He, however, stressed that the state would not move forward if different arms of the government failed to work together, therefore, called for unity and cooperation.

While congratulating the two female lawmakers elected to the 10th Assembly, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, the wife of Oyo’s deputy governor, wished Hon. Bisi Oluranti and Olufunke Comforter and their colleagues a successful term. 

Mrs Lawal, who made the party at Trance in Ibadan on Wednesday memorable and exciting with her presence, equally encouraged them to deliver on their promises and also serve as the voice of the people. 

The event had in attendance several members and leaders of Peoples Democratic Party and other well wishers who also came to rejoice with them. 

Hon. Bisi Oluranti Oyewo-Michael, representing Ogbomoso North Constituency, however, vowed to serve as the voice of the people of Ogbomosho North.

she pledged to make herself a mouthpiece of her constituency, to ensure that old projects are revisited and new projects are initiated, ensuring progress and stability.

Speaking on infrastructural development, Honourable Olufunke Comforter Olajide, a representative of Ibadan North 1, assured that her tenure will be of advantage to everyone, despite age or gender.

Through the oath of office, all inaugurated members have pledged to remain committed to ensuring Oyo State continues to experience headway in terms of education, and security, among others.

Meanwhile, returning member of The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, (Ibarapa East) emerged as the Speaker of the 10th Oyo Assembly.

Other representatives inaugurated include Hon Yusuf Adebisi – Ibadan South West I, Hon Adebayo Babajide Gabriel – Ibadan North II, Hon Kehinde Olatunde Taofik – Akinyele II, Hon Onaolapo Sanjo Adedoyin – Ogbomoso South, Hon Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel – Lagelu, Akande Opeyemi Modiu – Ibadan South East 1, Ogunsola Anthony Oladejo – Iwajowa, Hon Bamidele Adeola – Iseyin/Itesiwaju, Olayinka Ayobami Omikunle – Ibadan South East II, Hon Olusola Adewale Owolabi – Ibadan North East II, Babalola Abiodun Oluwaseun – Ibadan North East 1, Hon Abiodun Aderemi Fadeyi – Ona Ara, Hon Olasunkanmi Samson Babalola – Egbeda.
