We are together for Makinde’s re-election bid— PDP Reps candidate, Ijabah

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Irepo/ Oorelope/ Olorunsogo federal constituency in Oyo State, Hussaini Yusuf Ijabah, has appealed to party members, supporters, friends and followers to remain calm amidst the loss of the 2023 National election.

Ijabah’s appeal follows the demoralization of party members caused by the results of the 2023 national election, which were marked by excessive voting as shown in several units and wards.

He declared that he was committed to ensuring Governor Seyi Makinde’s success in the election scheduled for March 11 and urged his supporters and followers to campaign for the reelection of the governor, whom he praised for his commendable performance.

The PDP candidate said the election in the Federal Constituency is historic in a statement made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Wednesday, some hours after a stakeholders/reconciliation meeting with the governor on Tuesday.

He also expressed his gratitude to his constituents for their overwhelming support, prayers, goodwill, and participation during the campaign and election.

According to him, I feel honored and gratitude for this noble opportunity and grateful to Almighty Allah to have come this far.

He said: “This was not the outcome we envisaged and wanted, yet I know for sure all indices on this election favored us until things took a different turned on the eve and at the last minutes to election on 25th February, 2023.

“To all our supporters, I’m sorry that we could not win this election as declared by INEC. But know that we are all winners. I know and feel your pains having invested your hopes and aspirations in my candidature. It is about our community and our Constituency, we would continue to be on ground, doing our best for the growth and development of our community as we look towards the future.

“Though there are some anomalies of over voting recorded in different units and wards which our party is painstakingly looking at and would decide appropriate measures within purviews of the law.

“Being your House of Representative contestant under the great platform of our party (PDP) was a great honor in my life and I remain grateful. I cherished the peaceful nature of our campaigns and sanity we have infused into our politics and the values and maturity of our people. It signaled we can actually do it differently and much better as against politics of bitterness, discord and hates.”

IJabah, a banker and entrepreneur, specifically expressed his profound gratitude to Almighty Allah in Whose Mercy and Grace we are able to come this far. “I can not thank Allah enough, but to say Alhamdulil’Lah.”

He thanked the party leadership and members on whose flag he ride on his aspiration and contest for House of Representatives.
