With a fun fair, the people of Bashorun Oluwonla residents on Sunday trooped out en mass to receive the wife of Oyo deputy governor, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, who had solicited for their votes ahead of the March 11 governorship and Hosue of Assembly elections.
Mrs. Lawal, who was accompanied by PDP House of Assembly candidate, Mrs. Olajide olufunke Comforter, received praise for her selfless act of donating generator and repairing a motorized borehole that had been sunk on the community roadside for the benefit of dwellers, as well as for her other contributions to making people’s lives easier.
The wife of the deputy governor, whom at the meeting, had just experienced an Omituntun 2.0 downpour with a light drizzle, which is a victory sign for Governor Makinde’s re-election bid, expressed her deep appreciation to the residents for their readiness to deliver Governor Makinde and the PDP House of Assembly candidate on March 11, 2023.

She said: “We have worked, and God has answered our prayer. But what we need to do is to make good use of our PVC. On the day of election, when you get to polling unit, just look for the logo of our party which is Umbrella and use your index finger to cast your votes for all PDP candidates.
“Every vote count, and as such, we must not lose this opportunity. We need to solicits for the votes of everyone.
She added that the governor need to be rewarded back with a massive votes for all what he has done and he is still doing.
Lawal further urged the party members to encourage their partners, children and family members to deliver Governor Makinde for continuous advancement of Oyo state.
“We must maintain a first position in ward 5 because Ibadan North votes is very important. So, let’s, endeavor we lead with huge margin”.
Earlier in her remarks, the PDP candidate, Mrs. Comforter, expressed her sincere gratitude to the wife of the deputy governor, praising her for embodying qualities, having incredible honesty, and for her philanthropic acts to better her community.
She noted that ward 5, which has roughly 68 units, is fortunate to have a deputy governor in office, and she noted that Governor Makinde would receive a sizable majority of the vote in the upcoming election.
While announcing her cash donation, she urged the party members and residents to come out en mass and educate others to cast their vote only for PDP and ensure that Governor Makinde and her are victorious in the forthcoming election with a wide margin.
The highpoint of the event was the distribution of staple foods such as rice, beans, Garri, Mat, mosquito net and other essential materials to the residents by the wife of the deputy governor.
Immediately after the meeting, Mrs Lawal, however, led a huge crowd to commission the rehabilitated motorized borehole and generator for the community’s use.
She was overjoyed at the warm welcome she received and by the people’s determination to support PDP candidates in the upcoming election.
Among those present at the meeting include the PDP woman leader of Ibadan North, Julian Nwanchukwu; Dr. Pitan; Mr Gbede; Chief Mrs Ronke Bello and Olori Adejoke Adegbayi also known as Ajoki Mama.
