Oyo Deputy Gov has performed more than previous— K.K Olosho, Oyo Muslim Council pay congratulatory visit
A popular cleric and Islamic scholar in Oyo state, Professor K.K Olosho and the Oyo State Muslim Council have paid a congratulatory visit to the Oyo State Deputy Governor’s Elect, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal on his electoral victory at the Saturday’s governorship election.
The Muslim Council equally congratulated Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, over his re-election as Governor of the state.
Makinde, who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, emerged winner, having polled 563,756 votes cast beating his closest opponent, Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 256,685.
According to Professor Oloso who stormed his Bodija residence alongside other members of Oyo Muslim Council at an early hour on Monday, said that the deputy governor’s performance in his area is an improvement over previous performance on Muslim welfare and governance, urging him to keep thanking Allah over his life.
Olsoho, who emphasized that his political accomplishments exceeded those of his predecessors, insisted that any politician who want to capitalize on the political analysis would be aware of the deputy governor’s significant contributions to the Makinde-led administration.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for his life and revealed that Imam Atere, a member of the Imam-in-Council in Ibadan and their spokesperson, was also on the entourage paying the congratulatory visit.
He refuted the rumors that he is a politician as well because of his support for Makinde’s administration by stating that he is the Chief of Staff of the Oyo State Muslim Council and will remain apolitical.
