‘I come not to defend Makinde but to caution the unpatriotic’— Dare Adeleke opens up

Politics is a game played at the highest level. It is more like Chess, a game of thrones.

If we all can remember, our amiable, hardworking, resourceful and humane governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, was one of those who played a role in holding up the PDP when the cart was threatening to topple both at the national level and our zonal level.

Makinde emergered as goevrnor under the PDP when the party was at a tumultuous time. On the zonal level, the PDP was polarised and almost decimated but Makinde employed wisdom and diplomacy to get the cart steady and on the right path for so many more wins. He restored member’s confidence in the party and we became a cohesive force once again.

On the national level, he joined the team of progressives to restore sanity and oneness and stirred the party back to greatness.

As a true democrat, Makinde advocated for a national candidate of southern extraction. It was only fair. Having had a cumulative 8yr straight run, Makinde felt the north should step down for a southern candidature.

As is his character, he gave it his all and when it did not work out in favour of the south, our governor concentrated on his people while providing logistics to the chosen presidential candidate.

Why then should we condemn our governor without first condemning ourselves? He went through every nook and cranny preaching PDP, and the fact that the party had success at the National Assembly is a testament of his dedication and hard work.

Yes, the presidential election have gone and we all are aware of what happened, it is now the time to show what we are made of. It is time to rally around our governor, a man of peace, a man who puts his people first at all times; we must braze up to re – elect our own.

The traitors and torn coats are waiting like vultures to feast on our carcass. We must not be cadaver in anybody’s dubious laboratory. We must not be laughing stock. We cannot afford to lose.

We cannot give the traitors among satisfaction by poisoning our minds against our Governor.

Arise and act, arise and keep Oyo safe from the jaws of lustful beats who do not mean well for our state.

Arise for the Omoluabi, a man driven by conscience, God and humanity.

Let’s do it again. Let us put them to shame.
