BREAKING: Police ban party supporters from celebrating in Kaduna

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the Kaduna State Police Command has banned all forms of celebrations and rallies either for or against the election results of the concluded presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

The ban was placed on all supporters of political parties across the 23 local government areas in the state.

This comes following the announcement of the Independent National Electoral Commission, declaring the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the presidential election.

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘General election: Ban on celebrations and rallies by political party supporters,’ issued in Kaduna on Wednesday.

The statement read, “The Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna State Command wishes to notify the general public that all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections has been banned in the State.”

“All persons with intent to violate the order are warned to desist from that, as the Command in collaboration with other sister agencies are fully prepared to deal decisively with such persons in accordance with extant laws.

The command further warned that its operatives in collaboration with other sister security agencies would deal ruthlessly with any individual or group that attempted to cause trouble in the state.

It urges residents not to relent in supporting security agencies in delivering their mandates of securing lives and properties in the state.
