Adamawa calls for calm, urges support for Makinde’s re-election
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Atisbo/Saki West/ Saki East Federal Constituency in 2023, Dr Lukman Adisa Adamawa, has appealed to his supporters to be calm, stating that he would accept the outcome of the election whether favourable or not.
Adamawa, who also extended his deep appreciations to both his followers, friends and party members across the Federal Constituency, urged them to forget the past and start working for the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde whom according to him, has performed creditably well to be re-elected.
The PDP candidate’s plea is coming in the wake of his loss to the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, in Saturday’s House of Representatives election.
The outcome of the election came as a big blow to many PDP supporters in Oke-ogun who had earlier anticipated victory for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party with the wide popularity he enjoy in the Federal Constituency.
In a statement personally signed by him and made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Wednesday, Adamawa glorified Allah, the creator and decider, saying that the election has been lost and won but in the end he had made his impact.
He said: “All eleven players (team) in football usually work towards winning a match, meanwhile, loosing one match does not mean the team would not get reward at the end of tournament.
“Democracy is government of the people, by the people and for the people. Therefore, people are aware of dictate of socio-political, economic and religious state of the country.
“Nigeria is our country, PDP is our party, Gov Seyi Makinde FNSE is our Principal, let us try our best to make Oyo State a better place to live for all citizens and investors.”
Adamwa who equally extended his appreciation to all critical stakeholders, friends and family that had contributed to the project so far, added that their support and contributions do not end up in ocean of oblivion.
According to him, “Looser today may win tomorrow and winner of today may eventually loose out tomorrow.
“Either leaders are born or trained, we have become one today. I should not be selfish to destroy the bridge for my followers on this journey.
“Thank you for the love, Warafanau Makana Alliyah, he said.
