2023: A Call For Solidarity and Support By Hon. Lukman Adisa Adamawa Ph.D 

Dear Ifedapo Federal Constituency and friends, 

Major opposition political parties might have called for the cancellation of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly Elections, I plead with all citizens of Ifedapo Constituency to remain law-abiding, calm and peaceful. Now, a vote for Governor Seyi Makinde of the PDP for re-election as Governor, Oyo State (Omititun 2.0) and our other Assembly Members on the way to deepen our democracy. 

I crossed seven seas, rode boats in floods, walked on foot at farm settlements, talked with Royal Fathers & Mothers, Market Women, Pastors, Imams, Union Leaders, Youth Mobilizers, and Students in search of using legislative power for the development and a better Ifedapo though Federal legislation. Now, it is His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde that is guaranteed delivering to Ifedapo such monumental development in Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State. This is evident in the last 4 years. Now, let’s vote PDP in the 11 March 2023 election. 

As declared by INEC 15494 (APC) as against 15258 (PDP), I will continue to do my best for the betterment of  Ifedapo and Oyo state in the search for effective and responsible representation with effective oversight. This will not be limited to the institutions of governance in providing strong advocacy for Resource Management, Tax Reform, Security Sector Reform, etc but also for an equal, fair, just, and a strong united Federal Republic of Nigeria. I went into the Federal House of Representatives race with the sole goal of making Oyo State the destination for smart investment and youth capacity building which remain sacrosanct in my heart.

But in all things, I am extremely grateful to the entire Ifedapo Constituency that gave me an unprecedented and priceless electoral value that has redrawn the political lines in Oyo State. This has set a historic, patriotic, pragmatic notion that we are all equal irrespective of our status and background. With your support, Ifedapo Constituency, Oyo State and Nigeria will continue to come first above my personal ambition. This is my post election lesson. 

To all PDP stakeholders, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to run as a FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVE CANDIDATE. Thank you for believing in me that I can serve my people, as I have actively done in the past 2 decades. I took this road, not for petty partisan sentiments or material gain, but to serve millions of Nigerians who have been subjected needlessly to untold hardship.

For Ifedapo Constituency, my position is clear: We are too rich to be this poor and bereft of infrastructural development and social reform. I do not doubt that Oke-Ogun can be better than it is today. Thus, a vote for His Excellency,  Governor Seyi Makinde is important on 11 March 2023. I hope the good people of Saki-West, Saki-East and Atisbo share this belief.  I hope this belief will be kept alive.

I thank my team for standing with me from the beginning to this time. Also to the many that shared these burdens and excitement with us. I am extremely grateful to the entire Ifedapo Constituency, my family, friends at home and in the diaspora. 

To His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Deputy Governor, Barr. AbdulRahim Bayo Lawal, and my political leaders and mentor, Distinguished Senator, Hosea Agbo’ola Hallelujah and others, I can not quantify your support for me. I will personally write to thank all other heavyweight and stakeholders, not mentioned here. I give all Glory to God for his mercy. 

Nation Building is a marathon race and not a sprint. PDP remains the best credible alternative in our state. The fact that PDP is the most sought after political bride in the 2023 election says it all. Our party, The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will follow all legal and democratic means and processes to test the system and the electoral laws. 

Until then, let us remain calm, prayerful, and law-abiding, please.
