PDP Reps candidate, SMATO commends Ogooluwa/ Surulere voters after defeating Bunvic
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for House of Representatives, Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Oyo state, Ojo Sunday Makanjuola has congratulated the entire people of the Federal Constituency for trooping out en-mass to give him victory at the just concluded general elections on Saturday.
Bunvic, a a three-term lawmaker and also the chairman of the House Committee on Information and Orientation lost his re-election bid to Smato in the peaceful election with over 3,000 votes.
Announcing the result on Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer said the PDP candidate polled 13, 875 votes to defeat the APC candidate who scored 10,377.
In his congratulatory message on Monday, the Reps-elect described his victory as the true voice of the people who are so desperate for change and effective representation.
He said what could be of interest in the entire saga, is the unseen hands in “O to ge” that emerged and how the campaign was conceived to achieve the unthinkable which it did.
He commended the voters for their uprightness and steadfastness to ensure that he’s elected at the poll with a wide margin.
SMATO, who also thanked the entire members of PDP in Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency for their unwavering support, expressed his deep appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and members of my his campaign team for their tireless work and all his friends who gave him their support to win the election.
“I thank you for your support. I express my deep appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and the entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogooluwa/Surulere.
“I promise that I will represent you well and won’t disappoint you.
“One again, thank you for your support”, he said.
