Oyo Youth Parliament member, J’Icon Ojo shows gratitude to God for surviving fatal accident
Member representing Oriire State Constituency at the Oyo State Youth Parliament who is also a seasoned Documentary Photographer has appreciated God for saving him from fatal motorcycle accident that would have taken his life.
In his narratives during a telephone conversation with the men of the Major Update News earlier today, he said:
“Today makes it twenty-sixth (26) day that I was rushed down to the Emergency ward of the LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL, thoroughly soaked in my own blood.”
“At around 8:30pm twilight of Thursday 12th of January this year, I had involved in a head-on motorcycle collision with another rider at around KM3 of Ogbomoso – Ilorin Expressway.”
“From the result of the bone-scan conducted at the Laboratory, it was discovered that the unfortunate incident left my head, right hand and leg broken. After I was stable, I was then wheeled to the main-theatre last Monday 30th of last month where my fractures and other wounds were operated/diagnosed.”
“Though still under examination at the Hospital as I have several stitches on my body but I’m grateful to God that the surgery sessions were successful and the recovery process is on.”
“I’m thankful to God for my sister, Ojo Folasade who did all the running arounds and waited with tears of hope for hours for me to wake up because I’d already passed out due to the shock effect of the accident”.
“My Uncle and wife – Rt. Hon. & Mrs. Mary Olagunju Ojo, Prof. Dahud K. Shangodoyin, Engr. Seyi Adeleye, Mrs Awe Oludara and Hon. Solomon Wolekanle, Hons. Jibola/Rainbow, Aunty Bose, Mrs Adesikun for every forms of support to see that I’m fine. My lovely team: Amos Ojo, Amoo Elizabeth, Seun Ajala, Speaker and members of the Oyo State Youth Parliament, my Parent and my family, God bless you guys for me, Uncle Chris/Remi/Juwon/Yemi, Dapo-John, Inspectors Auwal Hassan/Pam Chuwang, Feranmi, the list is actually endless.”
“Special thank you to the Consultant surgeon Dr Olatide and all the other amazing surgeons, the Physiotherapy Doctor – Dr. Anthony, Nurse Alamu and other dutiful Nurses in the Male Orthopedic ward of the Lautech Teaching Hospital, Ijebu/Oje and Baba Mighty who team-leads for their warm assurances of my recovery.”
He ended his gratitude with a safety advise to the other riders/drivers and other road users.
“My advise to every riders/drivers out there is to take traffic cautions seriously, avoid one-way roads if you can, inspect and maintain your head-lamp and other indicator lights adequately to prevent avoidable accidents.”
“I am alive and I am grateful to God.”
