Atiku’s campaign DG escapes assassination attempt in Rivers 

Atiku’s Campaign DG: Dr. Abiye Sekibo, the General Director of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, narrowly evaded a murder attempt by unknown gunmen on Thursday night. 

It was said that gunmen wearing police uniforms opened fire on Sekibo’s vehicle, a Land Cruiser bulletproof jeep, in Rainbow Town in Port Harcourt, where he had gone to inspect the proposed site of the party’s presidential rally.

Sekibo confirmed the event during a press conference on Friday, stating that his vehicle was damaged with gunshots and that the designated protest site was set ablaze as police officers observed the blaze.

“As we neared the scene, the police officers who were observing the blaze opened fire on our truck.” I examined the Hilux trucks, which were police Hilux vehicles belonging to the Governor of Rivers State.”

The state and police officials have not responded to the claimed attacks on Sekibo. This is not the first time gunmen have attacked Atiku’s supporters in the state.
