Asido Foundation decorates Ajibola Lawal as ambassador, commends her charitable act

The wife of the deputy governor of Oyo, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, has received the honor of Ambassador from the Asido Foundation (AF), a not-for-profit charity organization that works to combat the sea of ignorance surrounding mental health by providing evidence-based information and engaging in advocacy and intervention activities aimed at improving the mental health needs of the Nigerian population.

The Yeye Bamofin of Kishiland was decorated as the Foundation ambassador on Friday when the Founder led its team on a visit to her Bashorun home in Ibadan.

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the Non Governmental Organization (NGO) works for mental health advocacy, stigma reduction, and enhanced support for affected persons and their families.

The founder of the Organization who disclosed that Mrs Ajibola Lawal deserved to be honored as the Foundation ambassador as a result of her support for everyone, added that her charitable act is immeasurable.

He said that she has positively impacted the lives of society’s most vulnerable members, including widows, women, children, the mentally and physically challenged as well as destitute.

The wife of Oyo State’s second-ranking citizen, Mrs. Ajibola Lawal, thanked the NGO’s founder and team in a brief remark after accepting the honor of serving as the organization’s ambassador.

She also noted that the foundation’s policy is in line with her own beliefs about making sure that those who are less fortunate have access to quality healthcare, education and safe environment.

It should be recalled that Lawal spoke extensively about “Mental Health Challenges” at the foundation’s event in Ibadan on Wednesday.

She urged support, compassion, and love for those dealing with various mental health-related issues.

The event had in attendance Dr Dayo Pitan, among others.
