2023: Group takes voter education to Kwara community, charges residents to shun voter apathy
AHEAD of 2023 general elections, a group under the aegis of Literacy Assured Initiative, based in Ilorin, Kwara State has encouraged indigenes and residents of Ile Apa Community, Ilorin East LG to shun voter apathy and vote during elections.

In their visit to the community, Founder of the organisation, Ahmed Adebowale alongside team members sensitized 30 households (over 200 eligible voters) on the significance of participation in electoral process as 2023 general elections hit the top gear.


According to him: “The era of voting candidates based on political parties is over. Voters must seek to hear from every candidate seeking for any political office other than the top to bottom syndrome.
“Nigerians must exercise their franchise by voting candidates with clear cut strategies to return the country back to the people. Therefore, voters must reject every form of enticement to compromise a genuine cause.

He also emphasized on voting procedure as it relates to 2023 general elections, discouraging the sale of PVCs and vote buying among others electoral malpractices.
Baba Mogaji of the community and other elders, who received the team with encomium, commended the team, expressing great optimistic in their efforts towards attracting developments to the community.
