U-Ride to begin operation in Ogbomoso

A newly designed transportation company is ready to begin operations within and outskirts of Ogbomoso, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports.

According to a statement made available to on Sunday, the idea is in a bid to help create an easy, cost friendly and comfortable transport system in Ogbomoso.

It reads “U-Ride is a transportation company with an app that allows passengers to book a ride and drivers to charge fares and get paid. More specifically, U-Ride hires independent contractors as drivers. It’s one of many services today that contribute to our national economy, supplying a means of connecting resources and providing great services.

“How does it work?

U-Ride links passengers with drivers using the U-Ride app. Generally, the drivers own their own car. The company does also offer rental or lease on cars, special deliveries, short and long distance travels.

U-Ride offers rides under a dynamic pricing model for both drivers and passengers. Passengers needing a ride can use the app to book a driver with an estimated price that is dependent on the destination as well as the demand at the time.

Using the U-Ride app has several advantages over more traditional transportation methods. As mentioned, our dynamic pricing model attracts drivers to certain areas at critical times, making it more likely that a car will be available during times of high passenger need.

U-Ride app also let’s users see a map that displays all the potential drivers in the area. Once a driver has been chosen, the passenger can watch their driver navigate to the pick-up location in real-time, with updates on estimated time of arrival. This allows for ultimate convenience when coordinating a ride.

From a broader perspective, U-Ride  shares a major benefit with other components of the national economy, to help create an easy and comfortable transport system.

U-Ride has the vision to take over 70% of the Ogbomosho market share of consumer transport, and 30% of delivery and logistics. U-Ride is launching in the city of Ogbomosho and plan to spare across countries fast, and enlists an average of 500 new drivers. Projection of 10 years is to have approximately 1 million registered U-Ride drivers. Our registered U-Ride drivers aren’t prohibited to have multiple jobs, it’s basically a great avenue to increase source of income and revenues.
