PACE SETTER TRANSPORT:

They are debutant and to say the less, they are the surprise package of the year.

Picked from different angle, the team was selected and put together within a short period and barely had time to train together.

FIRST MATCH AGAINST U.I. All stars:

They started the game on a back foot as expected because U.I. Is a more experienced team. They were one goal and one man down at the break but, their never say die attitude enhanced them to turn things around as they came from behind to win the game by 2-1.

In their second game against Apata-Odo Ona Ambassadors, they came much more relaxed and took the game to Apata. They came out of the victorious as they won the game by 2-0.

Having qualified for the quarter final with this result, they were expected to ring some changes in their last game but, fortunately for them, Wesley Ambassadors who were to be their opponent refused to show up and they were awarded the maximum 3points.

They qualified into the quarter finals without dropping a single point and shipping in only one goal the only team to scale through with 100% record.

Their quarter final match was against fellow debutant AKINYELE LIVING LEGEND. They took Living Legends to the cleaners as they comfortably dispatch them by 3-1.

The semi final was against a very skillful and compact URBAN-DAY ambassadors who were strong contenders for this year’s championship. The story changed when the game started. Before Urban-day could swing into action it was already 3-0. Urban-day tried to come back into the game but, they could only get one back. The game ended 3-1 and for the first time in the championship they made it to the final facing Pace Setter Liberty.

LIBERTY PACE SETTER:

They are serial winner when it comes to this team. They have won it 4 different times without loosing a single match. In this year’s edition, they started rather on slow start.

First match against Oyo Alaafin ambassadors:despite dominating positions throughout the game, they had to fight hard towards the end of the game to nick a last minute equalizer through their goal machine KABIRU ALAUSA. They tried to win the game but, luck did not shine on them as they settled for a 2-2 draw.

The second game for Pace Setter was a repeat of last year’s quarter final where they have to face local brothers turned rivals UNITED PROFESSIONALS. The game lived up to it’s billings as the two teams gave their all to pick the  maximum point so as to make it out of what was regarded as the group of death in this year’s edition. Unfortunately for Liberty Pace setter, they lost the game by a lone goal. With this result, the chance of LIBERTY PACE SETTER making it out of the group had massively reduced going into the last game against a defensively minded Staff All stars.

In the last game,Liberty needed to win the game to stand any chance of qualifying for the quarter finals. Once again, KABIRU ALAUSA’s lone wonder strike ensured victory and qualified his team to the next round.

The quarter final stage was a bit different as they faced a more tactically sound Apata Ondo-Ona Ambassadors. Apata proved stubborn but, Liberty scale through by 2-1.

They(Liberty) enjoyed a walk-Over advantage in the semi final as their opponent Oyo Alaafin ambassadors failed to honour the match and they are now in contention for another glorious outing.
