Oke Ogun monarchs rally support for Makinde, describe Bayo Lawal as pride of Oke- Ogun 

With barely 6 months to the governorship election in Oyo state, the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde get a major boost as the Monarchs in the entire Oke Ogun on Wednesday stormed Ibadan to express their satisfaction on the choice of Barrister Adebayo Abdulraheem Lawal as the Deputy Governor of Oyo state and his running mate in 2023 General Election. 

The monarchs in their usual traditional splendor oozing great style described Bayo Lawal’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole, who is capable of bringing development to the Oke-Ogun and entire Oyo state. 

In a congratulatory message, the monarchs in company of other notable stakeholders in Oke-Ogun zone appreciate the mutual rapour that exists between Governor Seyi Makinde and His Deputy, Bayo Lawal, praying that God, in is infinite grandeur will continue to replenish his wisdom, inner mind and total being in piloting the affairs of the state ever more. 

“To everything, a purpose. Within a short while; you left indelible footprints in the sand of time. In other words, your profession as a solicitor cum politician has earnestly and diligently spoken in volume from your past track records and that of your future endeavors.”

“Indeed, you are a precious gem politically that resembles a warrior to the marrow that can fight an dangerous battle to win despite any confrontation without succumb. Thus, only a great compassionate and fellow mobilizer of men and resource of your caliber can only withstand any perceived assault and yet remain a conqueror. Succinctly put, Sir, you are like a rare democrat that adequately calculate a political movement and that of a deadly striker who knows how and when to shoot to score an impressive winning goals effortlessly. We gratefully salute and commend the courage and prerogative power of our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Engineer Oluwaseyi Makinde to have judiciously putting a round peg in a round hole.”

The monarch consequently pledged their unalloyed loyalty, cooperation, commitment, dedication and sincerity towards this administration, adding that to whom much is given, much is also expected. 

Speaking on behalf of the Monarchs, the Okere of Shaki, Oba Khalid Olabisi maintained that the administration in the state has embarked on many laudable developmental projects in Oke Ogun, stating that it is imperative for the people of the zone to come together to appreciate the Governor. 

He noted that the entire Royal fathers in the zone are proud to say that Barrister Bayo Lawal is the pride of Oke Ogun, describing him as a man of integrity who has the people’s interest at heart. 

“This kind of a meeting with the presence of all the monarchs in the entire Oke-Ogun has never occurred before. as they pledged their continuous support for Makinde led administration. 

“We are pledging our continuous support for Makinde led administration. We are solidly behind you. And we are fully in sport of Governor Seyi Makinde government.”

They appealed to the Deputy Governor to see to their welfare, saying the country is faced with security challenges. “We want the government to continue to enhance the development of Oke -Ogun.”

Some of the monarchs present at the meeting include Iba of Kishi, Oyekola Lawal; Oba John Oyelola Bolarinwa, Onigboho of Igboho, and host of others.

Earlier, the stakeholders of Peoples Democratic Party in Olorunsogo local government, Igbeti, also visited the Deputy Governor today to declare their support for Seyi Makinde led administration.

The stakeholders, who were led by Chief Jacob Adetoro, expressed their appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his love by picking another Oke-Ogun son as his running mate in the forthcoming general election.

They reiterated that the position was based on his performance while serving as Executive Chairman of Housing Corporation as well as his good character which is worthy of emulation by young people. 

The stakeholders include Oyo State Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Oni, Special Assistant to the Governor on legislative matters, Demola Adejuwon Agbarapo; Member representing Olorunsogo State Constituency, and host of others.

In his appreciation, the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal thanked the guests for their visit. He urged them to keep praying and supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde which according to him, will continue to deliver on good governance.

“The governor should have also been here in person but couldn’t make it due to a sad event that occurred in Ogbomoso claiming the lives of one LAUTECH student and two other persons”, he added.
