UPDATED: Oke-Ogun fully united for Bayo Lawal— Oyo PDP Chairman, Ogungbenro

The State Working Committee (SWC) of Oyo state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has officially paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Deputy Governor, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal at his office in Agodi, Ibadan. 

The SWC was led by the State Chairman of the ruling party in the state, Honourable Dayo Ogungbenro.

According to the spokesman of the party, Akeem Olatunji, the visit was the first of it’s kind to any officer of this govt apart from the executive Governor, Seyi Makinde.

“This is the first time ever the SWC of our great party will be visiting any officer of this Government apart from His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.

“This visit is so because of the immense respect the ruling party has for the Deputy Governor of our dear state, Barrister Bayo Lawal.

Addressing journalists shortly after a closed door meeting, the Chairman of the party, Ogungbenro disclosed that Bayo Lawal’s emergence as the sitting Deputy Governor of the state, as well as running mate to Governor Seyi Makinde in 2023 general election, will show to everyone that Oke Ogun is fully united and will vote massively for him.

He said the Deputy Governor was his former teacher and he can vow for him that he won’t betray people, adding that he’s reliable and competent.

While expressing his appreciation, the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, said it is gratifying to received the Excos of the party who described him as a ‘Brand New Deputy Governor’. 

“The state working committee to the best of my knowledge has not paid anyone such a visit before. I really appreciate that. We can only boast of moving forward and achieving goals.’

“Going to election, contest and win election, is a primacy function of the party. They have given assurance and undertaken that they will work assiduously to the success of the party”, he concluded.
