Atiku Support Organization: Zonal Women Leader meets Southwest counterparts, discusses strategies 

The Southwest Women Leaders of Atiku Support Organization under the leadership of the Zonal Women Coordinator; Yeye Adenike Olarinde on Saturday, 30th July, 2022, had a briefing and interactive session at the Oyo State Capital, Ibadan. The parley began with an opening prayer by Mrs Mary Peter; the Ogun State Women Leader. 

The Zonal Women Leader; Yeye Adenike Remi – Olarinde congratulated the Osun State Women Leader and other Aso Women Leaders who participated in the door to door campaigns and election monitoring that culminated in the victory of our party’s candidate during the recent Osun gubernatorial election. The Zonal Women Leader also  briefed the house on the need for each state to tidy up the data information of local government Women Leader / Deputies, as well as the wards women list for onward transmission to the National EXCO who will proceed to each state soon for verification and inauguration of the EXCO. 

Yeye Olarinde also urged the women leaders to come up with a list  of responsible and competent women who are capable of galvanizing and aggressively mobilizing at the grassroots. Sh further stressed that strict adherence must be placed on the selection of women representatives who are very understanding and volunteers that will make the task ahead easier in attaining.

The Zonal Women women Coordinator also informed the house of her proposed familiarization tour to each state with a view of meeting the local government women leaders and their deputies before the commencement of the zonal and national exco visitations. In her submission, Yeye urged the states women leaders to be reserved and prudent in the planning of the proposed visitations.

Furthermore, Yeye Olarinde called for submission of suggested visitation dates for the month of August, as well as her appeal that other states women leaders should be part of her entourage for the visitations.

Consequently, Osun State Women Leader came up with Wednesday 3rd of August, 2022 for the Zonal Women Leader visitation, Ogun state Women Leader  also came up with 24/25th August while Lagos State Women Leader scheduled her meeting for 13th of August, 2022 respectively.

Whilst the Coordinators of Oyo and Ondo states promised to forward their tentative visitation dates upon consultations with the relevant stakeholders, Yeye Olarinde stressed that all the selected dates are subject to ratification

The Southwest Zonal Women Coordinator; Yeye Olarinde also stated the need for 3 other officers to be put in place for more efficient and adequate records of the zonal women coordinating.

Mrs. Mary Peter (Maria mimo); ASO Ogun State Women Leader reports that they ended the meeting on a refreshing note as  assorted delicacies were served, alongside a presentation of take home gifts by the Southwest Zonal Women Leader which  were gratefully accepted with loads of thanks and accompanying prayers. 

Closing prayer was rendered by  Mrs. Yemisi Adebiyi; the Osun State Women Leader.
