RETIREMENT: “Get something doing— Oyo Deputy Governor charges long serving OYSHC Manager
It is a historic event that the General Manager of the 1958-founded Oyo Housing Corporation retires in the same month that Barrister Bayo Lawal, the former Executive Chairman of the Corporation, is sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State by Justice Munta Abinmbola.
The Housing Corporation has been like a second home to Adekunle Samuel Olajire who has been a worker since 1991, and is now returning to his home with his family.
He was an acting General Manager for Six years and became full General Manager in 2019 when Seyi Makinde became Oyo State Governor.
Olajire was honored with a Get-Together party attended by the Deputy Governor, Adebayo Lawal, who praised him for being hardworking, loyal and industrious.
He said he cooperated with him as Executive Chairman of Housing Cooperation to transform the moribund building into an aesthetic edifice.
Bayo Lawal counseled him to get something doing to avoid becoming aging after his retirement service.
“You need to start doing something so that you won’t age”.
“Despite the fact that I am aware that you will go church on sunday because you attend Winners, you need to get moving”, he stated.
Other employees were also tasked by the Deputy Governor to work diligently and be committed to their service.
