Passion my driving force to be president – Atiku
Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said his presidential bid was driven by unwavering passion to give back to Nigeria.
Atiku said this in an exclusive interview on Arise TV on Friday.
The former vice president noted that Nigeria had done a lot to him and it was expected of him to give back to the society.
He recalled that the popular American President, Abraham Lincoln, ran many times before he emerged the president of the United States of America.
Atiku expressed optimism that his party would emerge victorious in 2023 general elections.
He said: “I ran up to four times before I became the governor of Adamawa state. Nigeria has done a lot for me. And it’s important I give back to the society. This explains my presidential bid. Nothing more than the passion to give back to the society.
“The greatest president of all time in America also ran a couple of times before his emergence as the president. So I’m bound to give back to a country that has helped me.”
