I am deeply shocked, leaving US immediately— Dare Adeleke mourns Hon. Popoola
A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Executive Chairman of the Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company, Hon. Dare Adeleke has expressed sadness over the sudden death of Oyo State lawmaker, representing Ibadan Southeast constituency II, Hon. Ademola Olusegun Popoola.
Adeleke described Popoola’s death as a rude shock, coming at a time when the State and indeed the entire nation had just started benefiting from his wealth of political and administrative experience.
Adeleke made his feelings known in a condolence message made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Wednesday.
He said “I am deeply shocked by the sudden death of Hon. Popoola who gave up the ghost last night at University College Hospital ( UCH ) after suffering from Kidney related disease.”
“His death has thrown the State into mourning, urging Oyo citizens, whose interest he represented to keep remembering him in prayer.
“Popoola was my loyalist and a very kindhearted person whose contributions in Ibadan Southeast constituency II can not be forgotten.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of this fine gentleman; a loyal party man and committed democrat, with a deep understanding of the State’s social and political landscape.”
“Right now, I am leaving US to commiserate with his family and Oyo state government over the sudden loss”,
I pray God forgive the soul of the deceased and grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
