OLUYOLE: Akeem Olatunji’s loyalty to party made him withdrawn his mandate
A source within Oyo State Government House has debunked report by an online medium stating that Governor Seyi Makinde’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Abdul-Mojeed Magbonjubola JAGABAN won the consensus for Oluyole Federal House of Representatives.
Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR on Monday, our source revealed that Engineer Akeem Olatunji in honor of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, agreed to align himself with whatever decision taken by the party.
Akeem Olatunji had earlier emerged consensus candidate for the Oluyole Federal Constituency and was among the ratified candidates by the committee chaired by Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja at the Government House in Ibadan last weekend.
But hours after the news of his emergence filtered on social media, the process was cancelled due to a protest by other aspirants for primary election.
This development, however, made Akeem Olatunji to obtain the party’s expression of nomination form, submitting that he is fully prepared for the primary election as a grass-roots politician.
Our source further revealed that there was a twist in development over the weekend as Akeem Olatunji was told to step aside for JAGABAN as Oluyole Consensus candidate in recognition of party’s decision.
When contacted this morning, Akeem Olatunji said “As a Leader, my preoccupation is to ensure that Governor Seyi Makinde and PDP wins 2023 elections by landslide and so shall it be. Amen”.
Mouthpiece NGR gathered that stakeholders of Oluyole LG PDP on Sunday were on a solidarity visit to his residence at Sanyo Area in Ibadan.
The party faithfuls were led by the Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon Olumide Akinlade, the Secretary to Oluyole LG, Hon Azeez Babalola, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon Niyi Akorede, Eight of the Ten Wards Councilors led by the Leader of the House, Hon Taiwo Isaiah, Eleven out of the Eighteen Local Government Executives, Supervisory Councilors, Special Assistants, Five of the Ten Wards Chairmen and Executives.
