‘Our Oba Reigned Peacefully’— Oloye Jumoke Akinjide mourns the passage of Olubadan
The former Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide has described the six years reign of the late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso the 1st as peaceful and calm.
Oloye Jumoke Akinjide stated this in a condolence message in Ibadan.
The former Minister who doubles as the Iya Yeye of Ona-Ara Local Government said the people of the ancient City of Ibadan had lost a very intelligent and respected royal father who was ever concerned with the development of his domain.
” This is really sad. Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji is gone. A peaceful and calm royal father has joined his ancestors. May God grant his soul eternal rest and be with everyone he left behind. “
She noted that even when there was crisis of elevation of some high chiefs to crown wearing Obas in Ibadan, the late Olubadan handled the situation maturely and did not engage in unnecessary bickering with members of his Council.
According to her, late Oba Adetunji will go down in history as one of the most peace loving Olubadan.
Oloye Jumoke Akinjide condoled the Oyo state traditional Council and the Olubadan in Council on the passage of Oba Adetunji.
” We are consoled with the fact that late Olubadan lived a fulfilled life and he died at the ripe age of 93. He was able to touch lives positively” She said
