OLUBADAN: Ladoja finally breaks silence
Rashidi Ladoja, former governor and Osi Olubadan of Ibadan, has spoken at last about the controversy surrounding who replaces Oba Saliu Adetunji as the new monarch.
Ladoja who made the clarification when he received visitors at his Bodija house, said the Otun Olubadan, Lekan Balogun is the next in line to succeed the departed Oba Adetunji.
Appealing for calm the high chief, “Uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tensions in Ibadan. There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1”.
This was just he clarified that he had no hand in the letter written by an Ibadan-born lawyer and former justice commissioner, Barr. Michael Lana.
Recall that Mouthpiece NGR had on Wednesday reported that 10 of the high chiefs who are kingmakers met at Mapo and endorsed Balogun as Olubadan-elect.
Ladoja was however absent at the meeting. The reasons for his action was unknown until today he broke silence on the issue.
Balogun and others were during the reign of Late Ajimobi in 2019 elevated to Obaship status, an action that is subject of litigation and discussion in Ibadan.
