Emotional Makinde terminates interfaith prayer over Akala’s death
Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has confirmed the death of the former governor of the state, Otunba Alao Akala.
Makinde made the pronouncement when he was called to deliver a goodwill message at an ongoing interfaith prayer for the state workers.
The Governor who said he got the news at the event only called for a minute silence and asked that the ongoing programme be brought to an abrupt end.
The former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao Akala was confirmed dead by a close source who pleaded anonymity.
Akala died exactly one month after Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, joined his ancestors.
While condoling with the immediate family members of the former Governor, his political associates and all residents of the State, Governor Makinde prayed God should grant his loved ones and all his well-wishers the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“I I am here with the speech prepared for this event but I have just been informed about the death of former Governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo-Akala.”
