Anambra Polls: Voters stranded as INEC card readers disappoint
Many voters who trooped out today to vote in the Anambra 2021 governorship election have been faced with disappointment following the failure of the card readers deployed by the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC).
Mouthpiece NGR gathered that, in some areas, hundreds of voters turned up as early as 7:00 a.m. but not even a single person had been accredited to vote as at 10:00 due to malfunctioning card readers.
Among the affected areas is the locality of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who is candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in the state.
Angry voters alleged deliberated attempt to disenfranchise them, warning that they cannot wait forever to vote.
