Embattled MAA want Court to reinstate sacked Oyo LG bosses, regret supporting Makinde as Governor
Former leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola has disclosed that she would have been happier if the Supreme Court had reinstated the sacked council chairmen and councilors.
Mouthpiece NGR understands that Mulikat, who represented Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2015, stated this on Saturday morning while featuring on Fresh 105.9 FM’s Political Circuit anchored by Mayor Isaac Brown.
According to her, instead of asking the government to pay salaries and allowances of the council helmsmen, reinstating them would have put a stop to governors in the habit of sacking elected council bosses.
Recall that Supreme Court had on Friday faulted the removal of APC council chairmen by Governor Seyi Makonde.
The court asked Makinde led administration to pay the salaries and allowances before August 2021.
Mulikat who has been at loggerheads with the Governor recently, also apologized for supporting Seyi Makinde in the build up to the 2019 general election.
She said Sen. Ayoade Adeseun and others had better chances than Makinde in the build up to the 2019 election, adding that she was instrumental to how the governor got the ticket.
She said she has learnt and regretted her actions, saying, “if the opportunity presents itself again, I will do things differently.”
“I have met our leader, Chief Rashidi Ladoja once after the election and I knew what he told me. He is not happy with me. There are many others in Baba’s shoes. I was blinded by love for PDP. It was nothing personal.”
”Even if the closest person tells Governor Makinde to ignore me. He should say I have heard and when he is alone, he should know that I am not the kind of person. Before and after the election, he knows how to reach me, especially in my Abuja house. I am not someone to control anybody. I heard Sen. Ayoade Adeseun that he served us right, that we got what we bargained for. “
