PHOTOS: Orire LG boss installs new borehole, repairs others

Caretaker Chair Person, Orire Local Government, Hon. Lydia Bankole has installed new borehole for the people of Agabi in Ward 3 to tackle the issue of water scarcity.

Agabi which is among the rural areas in the local government have been battling with water scarcity over the years. 

Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR, Hon. Lydia Bankole said that the borehole will be used by individual households or by anyone in the area.

She said they opted for the construction of new borehole because it is less likely to become contaminated than hand-dug wells. 

The Caretaker Chairperson also noted that repair of existing borehole was also done at Olose Ward 2 to afford people drinking water. 

“As a government of people, we ensured that Orire indigenes and residents are involved throughout the design, siting and construction process”, she said.
