Amotekun arrests two for killing Okada rider

Ekiti State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has arrested two men, Jimoh Ojo and Ayo Lawal, at Itapaji Ekiti for the murder of one Isaac, a motorcycle rider, and burying him in the bush.

Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Joe Komolafe (retd.), said the agency also arrested one Yakubu Aliyu in a forest at Ilemesho Ekiti, who reportedly confessed to being a member of a kidnap syndicate..

While parading the suspects on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, said Lawal and Ojo were arrested “for murdering one Isaac and burying his corpse”.

Abutu said it was gathered that “the deceased on November 24 conveyed Lawal to his farm but on getting to the farm, Lawal conspired with Ojo and two others, who are now at large, to dispossess Isaac of his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.”

He added, “After succeeding in robbing the victim of his motorcycle, they strangled him to death and buried his corpse in a shallow grave in Lawal’s farm.”

One of the suspects, Lawal, reportedly said he killed the motorcyclist to raise money to purchase yam tubers for the planting season.
