LAUTECH: The Only Way Forward To Ownership Crises- Alumni

Stakeholders of the LAUTECH Alumni Association at its meeting on Wednesday, 16th of October, 2019 in Osogbo, made its position known on the lingering crises bedeviling the institution. 

LAUTECH has been in the clutches of incessant industrial actions over unfulfilled promises arising as a result of the inability of the two owner states to find a common ground on issues affecting the smooth running and peaceful co-existence of the institution.

  The stakeholder resolved at the following as a way forward to the ownership crises: 

1. That we, the Alumni,  observed that in the last 8 years neither of the two owner states have committed any capital project to the institution. 

2. That the two states house of assemblies should legislate for monthly subventions to ensure smooth running of the institution. 

3. That however if either of the two owner states is no longer interested in the joint ownership,  mercenaries should be put in place for peaceful disengagement. 

4. Consequently, we therefore appeal to the state government of Osun and Oyo to please follow the the existing funding structure by releasing subventions to the institution while efforts  are made to proffer lasting solutions. 

5. In light of the foregoing, we hereby appeal to staffers,  students and the host communities of the institution to stay calm and let  normalcy return.

6. We as Alumni of Ladokr Akintola University frowned at an assemblage of unknown persons posing as concerned Alumni, we state clearly that there is nothing like concerned Alumni. No individual or group of people can be concerned than us. However any individual or group of people who wants to benefit from the crisis by toiling with the future of over 30,000 Ladokites through frivolous press conference, protests and agitations that is calpabe of truncating the peaceful resolutions of the crisis will have the Alumni association to contend with.

7.We condemn in totality the act of impersonation ,gross irresponsibility and indiscipline exhibited by some faceless groups.  

LAUTECH is our pride and that any individual member of our Alma Mater should not make LAUTECH a laughing stock in the comity of universities.
