EXCLUSIVE! Only Rich Men are making Governor Makinde’s Cabinet

Indications has shown that the Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde is only interested in appointing Money-bags to his government. 

The governor seems to prefer affluence and well connected people than hustlers or less privileged who are members of PDP. 

About 70% of his appointment has so far favored rich men who are not even members of his party let alone parties of coalition. 

I’ve seen leaders of some advocacy groups making appointment list, including technocrats whose original base is not even closer to Oyo state. And I doubt if anyone of them is with voters card. 

Where are the warlords and online media gurus who campaigned rigorously for his excellency during electioneering period ? What about the hallelujah boys who sang his praises and followed him up and down during the turbulent times ? 

Do we no longer have reputable leaders  among the PDP members who can be appointed on merit ? What about those with right thinking cap who can add value to this government? 

I’ve no issue with the governor sterling leadership but keeping silent on issue like this is not good enough. 

Though, our amiable, dynamic and hardworking Governor has right to appoint anybody into his cabinet, especially those he believes would add values to his government and good governance in the state. However, people may have some insinuations about some names, that might not have been heard in the cause of “struggle” to send Apc away from the state. 

The role of politicians during election can not be overemphasized. Likewise the middle class and the less privileged who constituted to high voting strength. These people need not to be deprived by a man divinely ordained to govern Oyo state. 

Governor Makinde need to know that the first 2years is governance. Whatever that needed to be done should be executed now. The remaining 2years will only be for preparation for the next election. 

How soon are the board members for local government service commission resuming office ? When will caretaker chairmen and councilors be appointed or elected ? 

I understand the legal teams are busy with court cases to make members of the party have access to LGs & LCDAs that are closer to grassroots. But the governor still need to use his power to appoint caretakers pending the time the case would be finally settled. Time is going! 

I also understand that the governor need to clear some political hurdles that former governor planted to disorganize this new administration, but not by excluding PDP political gladiators, stalwarts, including those fine-fighters from coalition parties to his cabinet. 

I’m saying these because I want the governor to be successful. Those lobbying for appointment can never say this except people like us who genuinely want him to excel. 

Constructive criticism will make you stronger. So, beware of those who only sing your praises for ends meat.
