Osun Assembly Receives List of Commissioners After 10 Months

Baring any last minute change, the list of commissioners in the state would be read and confirmed at the floor of the House on Tuesday.

Mouthpiece NG reports the state House of Assembly received the list on Monday.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola who is currently in President Buhari’s entourage to the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York had directed the submission of the list to the Speaker of the Assembly, yesterday evening.
According to a source, “All things being equal, the list should be read today. The atmosphere is good and ready and I am sure the lawmakers and the entire state are anticipating for those who would finally make Governor Oyetola’s cabinet.”
”With the feelers I am getting, the list is ready and should have been submitted by Monday evening. I am confident and sure that without further ado, the list will be read today. It should be on the order paper of the Assembly for plenary today.”
It was gathered that the list would be read without any further delay as plan already concluded to get the commissioners working.
The reading will bring to a close months of anticipation and expectations on those to assist Governor Oyetola in the governance of Osun after 10 months of his assumption of office.
The drawing of the final list had taken a long time after months of rigorous inter-party squabbles and protest by some sections of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the state.
On the list, there are members of the All Progressives Congress APC selected through the choice of the party hierarchy at different local government while four members of the Social Democratic Party SDP also made the list in honour of the coalition between the two parties.
