Oyo Newly Sworn In Principal Officers at House Of Assembly (SEE How Ogundoyin Sailed Through)

Out of the 32-members, the ruling PDP boasts of 26 members, APC has five members while ADP boasts of one member.

Ogundoyin who’s said to have the backing of the top echelon of the PDP leadership in the state, was also favored by zonal consideration as he represents Ibarapa, a zone which does not occupy any of the two top positions of governor (Ibadan) and deputy governor (Oke-Ogun).

Those opposed to his nomination had argued that he only has about a year’s experience and has not shown enough legislative pedigree as compared to the trio of Wumi Oladeji, Alarape and Oyeleke who command four years legislative experience.

But at the end, Ogundoyin became the speaker through the influence of majority in the house. 

The next four years will be very interesting as it would be the first time a 32 year old would preside over experienced and elderly constituted authority in the house.
