NASS Leadership: Ahmed Lawan, Omo Agege Emerges Senate President, DSP (See Full Results )

The Clerk of the National Assembly declared Lawan as the Senate President having polled 79 votes to defeat Ndume

Lawan polled 79 votes while Ali Ndume polled 28 votes. 
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the All Progressives Congress preferred candidate, was also elected as the deputy president of the Nigerian Senate.

Omo Agege defeated the former deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu of the People’s Democratic party with 68 votes. Ekweremadu polled 39 votes.
