JUST IN: PDP Kicks As Police Detain Ademola Adeleke
The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke have reportedly been detained by the Nigeria police.
Mouthpiece NG gathered that senator Ademola Adeleke, representing Osun West at the Senate had honored an invitation at the force headquarters in Abuja before he was put under custody.
The party while protesting said the police action was in total disregard for the extant order of the Federal High Court.
“This is highly provocative, an invitation to anarchy and recipe for a very serious crisis not only in Osun but also in the judiciary and our polity as a nation,” Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, said at a press conference in Abuja.
He further said that, “The arrest and detention of Senator Adeleke is a direct act of violence against our laws, the institution of the judiciary and the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
“This is part of the grand plot by the All Progressives Congress to coerce Senator Adeleke to relinquish the mandate that was freely given to him by the people of Osun state, which was further established by the election petition tribunal.”
Ologbondiyan said the plot was to drag Adeleke before an “ostensibly compromised magistrate court,” over the same issues of alleged forged school testimonial that was already before the Federal High Court.
Meanwhile a personal assistance to senator Ademola Adeleke on New Media, Mr Akintude Bello Sheriff, had alleged that the unlawful detention of the senator was a ground conspiracy between APC Forces and Security Architecture to poison him.
Speaking with our correspondent, he said: “We are compelled to alert the public that there is a ground conspiracy between APC Forces and Security Architecture in Nigeria to give Demola Adeleke, the MKO treatment by making sure that the Governor Elect is poisoned and killed. Should harm befall Osun Governor Elect, Demola Adeleke, Gboyega Oyetola and the Inspector General of Police must be held responsible.”
“We call on Human Rights Activists to stand up for the protection of humanity and prevent organized state killing. For the umpteenth time, Osun State people know who to take responsible. To govern a State having suffered electoral and judicial losses is not by force.”
