BREAKING: Rumpus In FOGSU As Donated Bus Allegedly Sold

For the past few days, the Federation of Ogbomso Students, FOGSU, has been embroiled in several interventions and crisis, primarily over the alleged sale of an association bus donated by Honorable Segun Ogunwuyi.
The crises which has continued threaten the peace and harmony being enjoyed by the association for the past years was on May 1st, brought on the front burner when the past and present stakeholders of the association clashed at Owode police station.

According to report, the immediate past president of the association, Ayanyika Obasanjo was dragged to police station and put in detention about the contentious issue with different stakeholders making cases over the allegedly sold bus.
However, several claims has been made by various stakeholders that the bus which belong to the association turned to a personal property, alleging the sale of the bus by the former president, Ayanyika Obasanjo.
Mouthpiece NG reliably gathered that the bus was part of the philanthropic gesture of the current Honorable member, representing Ogbomoso North, South, Orire.
Speaking with our Correpdondent, the senate president of the association, Com. OKEDIJI Adedayo, who confirmed the incident said they were at the Owode police station yesterday about the issue.
He said, “the newly sworn in FOGSU executives requested for the Union property from the outgone President, Ayanyinka Olusegun, but he refused when we got to the station yesterday.
“Obasanjo said the bus donated to the Union on July 13 2018 by Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi was not meant for the Union but for him, when a call was put across to the Honourable, he said the bus is for OBJ, although, the bus has been sold already by OBJ, he “added.
Another stakeholder who introduced his name as Fagbemi Abiola, a former president of the association in 2012 and currently a member of Nigerian Youth parliament, said that “when the police contacted Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, he claimed he donated the bus to the person of the past president and not the union.

Abiola explained that “when asked why he would inscribe the name of FOGSU on the bus and put it in his Stewardship report and newspapers which was also presented to the police, he said he used that to ‘advanced’ his 2019 reelection bid.
Efforts to get in touch with the alleged president, Ayanyinka Obasanjo for his own reaction over the issue was proved abortive as calls and texts put forward to him were not return as when filling this report.
The FOSSU president, Comrade Azeez Sharafdeen Akano popularly known as Pa-Biafra, who threatened to challenge  Honorable Ogunwuyi with a press conference, for giving a motor to an individual also vowed to mobilize students  in Ogbomoso against what he described as “injustice”.
Akano said: I, and other students leaders in ogbomoso will engage Hon. Ogunwuyi in a serious battle to defend the name FOGSU which he alleged Hon. Ogunwuyi wanted to drag into mud by giving a motor to an individual which was boldly inscribed by the association name and listed as part of his contributions.
Reacting, the Honorable member, representing Ogbomoso North, South Orire, Honorable Ogunwuyi while speaking with our Correpdondent this morning frowned at the step being taken by the stakeholders for dragging the former president before the police without proper investigation of the matter.
Hon. Ogunwuyi explained that he gave out the bus to enhance the mobility of the president who personally made the request from him.
He wondered why some elements would maligned his name or resolve into campaign of calumny in a desperate attempt to tarnish his image.
Hon Ogunwuyi maintained that the former president requested for the bus to enhance the cause of FOGSU.
“The bus wasn’t registered in the association name. If they also want bus, they should also contact me and follow the appropriate channel.
“You are seeking my reaction after putting the former president in detention. You didn’t bother to come to me for appropriate response and reaction over the matter before taking the issue to police station.
“The bus is a gift to him and I registered it in his name. If the new president needs a bus, he can contact me or contact any philanthropist within Ogbomoso that will give him one.
As a current honorable, the door is still open for the new executives to approach me. We can work things out for the progress of the association, he “concluded.
