Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked a secondary school in Zamfara state, kidnapping some teachers and students in the process.
Mouthpiece NG gathered that the bandits raided the Government Girls Secondary School, Moriki, in Zurü local government area, on Wednesday night, and released fire immediately.
The unknown gun men were said to have killed one man in the process and abducted two teachers and four nursing students.
The incident, which according to report, happened while residents were watching the UEFA Champion league match between Liverpool and Barcelona, was also learnt that the gun men were unable to gain access to where the majority of the students were sleeping.
MouthpieceNG reports that Zamfara State has been under serious heavy attack by bandits in the past few years.
The attacks have heightened in 2019 despite efforts by the security operatives to address the situation.
Recalls the Federal Government had to put a stop to ongoing mining in the state, and ordered foreign miners to leave the state immediately owing to the security challenges.
The development has also made the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) to continually combed the bushes in the state and recorded huge success in the fight against bandits in the state.
Though, traditional rulers have accused NAF of killing “innocent citizens” in the process, a claim which did not go down well with the NAF authorities.
