Oyo 2019: Why LAUTECH Students, Staff Should Appreciate Senator Sumonu Monsurat With Votes

A former student of the Ladoke Akintola university of Technology (LAUTECH) has stated reason why the Students, staff and the entire community should vote for the ADC senatorial candidate, senator Sumonu Monsurat in the February 16 general elections.

Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP), While addressing people in one of the school area, revealed what senator Sumonu Monsurat did silently when the school was in full blown strike.
He added that she was the first person to raise the issue of LAUTECH at the floor of the house while also condemned the recalcitrant attitudes of the two governors  ( Aregbesola and Ajimobi ) towards the students in 2016.
According to Ahmed, “we know the number of appeal letters and articles written to Fatai Buhari and other serving  honorables in Ogbomoso without any reaction.
“We also know the number of different group of people that appealed and met with senator Fatai Buhari to speak on the issue of LAUTECH. They all reacted to the  issue after senator Sumonu Monsurat had raised the issue at the floor of the house.
“As one of the students’ leader, who also played a key role during the impasse, I remember that senator Sumonu Monsurat first engaged us on her Twitter handle. She felt bad about our situation and promised to do something. I’m sure those who were strongly involved in the struggle would bear witness.

Speaking further, “Senator Sumonu Monsurat was also part of the senator that stressed the need for the federal government to provide lifeline for the university so as to further promote science and technology in the country.
“I learnt about the other things she did silently then, especially by communicating with the former deputy governor of Osun state, Mrs Tomori and the speaker, Mr Najim Salam, for the sum of 500 million naira to be released for an immediate solution, “he added.
Lanlehin coordinator, Amoo Akeem Omopoly, who was the SUG former electoral chairman in his statement urged all the students to support senator Sumonu Monsurat tomorrow. He added that she’s a God fearing woman and one to be reckon with.
Senator Monsurat reelection will add a spice to the school edifice especially now we have a new vice chancellor, “he said.
