Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Folashade Abeo Bags Iyaniwura Oodua Agbaiye Award

Monday, 1st May, 2023, an illustrious daughter of Oyo Alaafin who is the Iyaloja General of Oyo State and Southwest Coordinator, Market Traders Association of Nigeria MATAN, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN was honoured with ‘Iyaniwura Omoluabi Oodua Agbaiye Award’ by the Yoruba Council Worldwide YCW.

According to the organisers of the event, the award approval was given by the Royal Grand Father of the Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye, His Imperial Majesty (Oba) Babatunde Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife, and the Omoluabi Orí Award was one of the activities earmarked for the celebration of the annual Omoluabi Cultural Festival.

The award presentation ceremony, held at the National Arts Theater Iganmu Lagos and it was so colourful and entertaining. There were all kinds of cultural displays and other attractions. Top personalities in the society were present.

Presenting the award certificate to Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo NURUDEEN, Global President of Yoruba Council Worldwide YCW, Aare (Oba) Oladotun Hassan laid emphasis on the fact that the honour was nothing but a well deserved one. Saying that recognition was not based on money but the wonderful antecedents of the recipient. Her past success and contributions to the development of the cultural heritage and the society generally. As a reliable, courageous and a straightforward personality. He maintained that the recipient is being awarded because of her believe in Omoluabi value and for being a role model to other women.

In her speech when addressing the press, she said ” I am happy with what I saw when I came to this event, I noticed our cultural heritage is been restored gradually, the best language ever is the Yoruba language, which should be appreciated among the Yoruba people by inculcating the habit of speaking the language with their children.”

“We should be proud of our language everywhere we go and wherever we are.”

She urge all Yoruba race to support one another and celebrates their cultural heritage. She thanked the organisers of the prestigious award for counting her worthy for such valuable award and promised to continue promoting Yoruba culture and heritages locally and internationally.

The ever stylish Princess Abeo was in her full element. She looked elegant and dashing in her expensive lace, matched with expensive gold jewelries.
