BREAKING: NALDA empowers LAUTECH Agric Faculty, donates multimillion naira equipments 

National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), an agency saddled with mandate of harnessing the full potentials of vast arable lands in Nigeria, empowering small holder and large scale farmers with full mechanization. 

The Faculty of Agriculture LAUTECH Ogbomoso, sitting on 250 acres of land was considered suitable for the drive of Food and fiber security project of NALDA as it housed several hundreds of arces of cashew and Mango plantations.

The NALDA project which will involve cultivation of 125acres of maize farm under the initiative of Undergraduate farming support scheme promoted by group academic staff of Faculty of Agriculture LAUTECH Ogbomoso was kick-started by delivery of multimillion naira farm equipment such as brand new Tractor, Planter, Harrower, Sprayer, Truck, among others. 

The equipments were received by the Dean of the Faculty and other staff members on Tuesday.

It was gathered that both members of staff of Faculty and students were happy with the development as the scheme will further confirm the Faculty of Agriculture LAUTECH as center of excellence for teaching research and training of students. 

The faculty was a part of foundation faculty of the University 33years ago and have stand out among Nigerian University Faculty of Agriculture Sciences.

The faculty have recent times attracted project worth of multimillion naira such as establishment of outreach of Forest research institute of Nigeria Project, Tree Crop Project and Palm tree Nursery Project.

The Faculty will continue to compete favourable with it’s peers globally as report shows the graduates of the faculty are doing excellently well in the labour market. 

No doubt this is as a result of commitment and dedication of staff who have been attracting a lot of multimillion naira project to the faculty since its establishment 33years ago.
