Ramadan: Oyo Deputy Gov, Hosts Olosho, Imam Atere, Others To Iftar

Oyo Deputy Governor, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal has hosted Islamic leaders to an Iftar meal (breaking of Ramadan fast) in his residence at Bashorun, Ibadan on Thursday.

Lawal stated that in line with the spirit of the season, he considers it necessary to extend love to his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters saying that the act is acceptable to Allah.

The deputy governor called on Muslims to always strive to promote peace as it is in line with Islamic teachings.

Speaking on behalf of others, Professor KK Olosho called on everyone to aspire to do good deeds stressing that it is not the food here that matters but the imports of the message the event has passed across.

” With this, our amiable Deputy Governor, Barrister Lawal has simply extended a hand of fellowship which all of us must key into.

” At this stage, we can only pray for him that Allah should continue to strengthen him in Ibadah and all his endeavors.

Other dignitaries at the event include, Oyo State House of Assembly member-elect, Hon Olufunke Comforter, Special Assistant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs, Imam Abdurasheed Abdulazeez, Imam Atere, Iya Loja Oyo state General, Saratu Aduke among others.
