BIRTHDAY: Oyo Deputy Gov thanks Gov. Makinde, other well wishers

The Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal has expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for his wonderful wishes and prayers on his birthday anniversary.

Lawal, who also thanked top government functionaries under the Makinde’s led administration, equally expressed gratitude to Nigerians from different walks of life, who visited him on Friday in his Bashorun residence to honour him on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

The guests, which included his friends, aides as well as royal fathers, Islamic clerics, appointees and other well wishers from the Peoples Democratic Party, prayed for him and thanked him for the good things he has continued to do for humanity.

They also appreciated him for being loyal to his principal, Governor Makinde, and the way he has been able to complement the effort of Governor Makinde.

Responding to the goodwill messages, Bayo Lawal thanked the visitors and well wishers for honouring him and commended his wife and other family members for their prayers and making the low-key celebration a remarkable one.

He said: “Firstly, I need to thank Almighty Allah for the opportunity given to me to witness another year of celebration.

“I’m earnestly grateful to my principal, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde for his birthday wishes and prayers to commemorate my day.

“I can’t but also appreciate my friends and other well wishers who woke up from their houses before 6.00am to get to my house as early as possible with their birthday gifts and prayers.

“And since Friday until Saturday evening, we have been receiving visitors.

“I want to sincerely thank my wife and family members and also thank all for coming to my house without any announcement or any form of text messages to invite guests.

“I pray God reward you all abundantly. I am really grateful,” Lawal said.
